paint back of tank?

would not recommend latex but i would use oil based due to latex is water based if i'm not mistaken. clean the glass with a single edge razor blade and the use alcohol to remove oil and then apply 2 coates and no need to tape the tank and so one. i have used spay paint and it can get blotchy. second thing i have done is use automotive tint. it bonds and won't allow water to get behind it.

I rolled the back of my tank the first time, and it when I barely scraped it with anything, it peeled off. I got peeved, peeled it all off, and rolled it with krylon fusion sprayed into a roller pan. As long as you take your time, spray it evenly, and let it dry really well between coats, it looks perfect.

krylon spray black here too..... put on few coats and use a flashlight (or any bright light) to shine through it to see if there are any thin spots....

thin thin thin layers of spray paint.

20 minutes between layers, 5 layers, and you are golden!

I did exactly that on my 37. Loved the results. Also I used krylon fusion but I used a primer spray first.

Krylon Fusion is good.

If it was me - I'd prep the glass with 0000 steel wool and clean the surface with alcohol before painting.

Just my 1 cent. :D

I did this too. I just made sure that I blocked and taped off the restof the tank and covered it with newspaper so spray didn't get inside or on other places of the tank glass.
