paint canopy

What kind of paint to use in the inside of the canopy that is moisture and heat resistant? I don't plan to use glass-top. Thanks.

If you have a boating supply store near you, you could try a nice white enamal that's made for marine use. Interlux is a good brand. It's not the cheapest paint in the world, but it is made for the marine environment.

I used 1 heavy coat of KILLS primer, then a good coat of semigloss exterior white enamel on several hoods. I have had no peeling or other problem.

What kind of reef-safe primer/paint that I can find at Home Depot? I made a mistake and put my newly finished canopy (without any paint) on my tank overnight. Now the wood is bent. Any tip to fix that?

I second the KILZ. This stuff is tried and true. Tough as hell.
If you are still nervous. Go over the primer with a bright white enamel (oil based). Avoid latex which is water based.

Tony, unless your canopy is fully enclosed, I sincerely doubt you'll get condensation dripping back down. 48x18 canopy over my tank with just the back end open (about 7" high) and nothing condenses, it all just evaporates away.
