Painting and Reef Tanks

So I’m looking at selling my house as I get ready to build a new house. As part of that prep, I’m planning on painting a few interior rooms (including the room my 65 gallon sits in). I don’t run a skimmer.

Do I need to be concerned with paint fumes effecting the tank?

I've never had an issue with paint fumes affecting a tank. That said, I have not used an oil based paint in over 30 years. I think most latex (the most common interior) paint these days offer a low odor variety as well.

They make paints with what they call zero vocs that would be best, but I've used regular with no problems. I agree to stay away from oil base though.

Ah, zero voc's, that's what I was thinking of. Thanks for the correction Jesse.
