Painting the Inside of an Acyrlic Tank?.

I know people have painted the backside of their glass tanks. Has anyone every painted the inside of a colored acrylic tank? My current tank has a blue back but i want to change it out to black.. Any suggestions on what kind of paint to use if it is possible? I know some people use Krylon to paint PVC pipes. Would that work as well with the background? I don't want it to peel later on while water is in it.

I would just make sure the paint is Potable. "Potable" means the paint is suitable to house drinking water. I would assume it would also be fine for an aquarium. You could probably find this on the paints MSDS sheets. ;)

blue backgrounds suck... if my girl friend was a blue background, i would paint her...depending on her attitude the day of painting would determin weather or not if the paint would be "Potable" :)

just keep in mind...reguardless what the paint chart tells you (paint chart ='s GREAT IDEA btw) SALT WATER his HIGHLY CORROSIVE... i think within months you can expect pealing if the correct paint is not used... you should check with tank manufacturs or someone with extensive knowledge reguarding the issue @ hand, or i see dark paint clouds in your future.:eek2:

Instead of paint get black acrylic and use weldon to bond it to the back wall. Paragon has black acrylic for fairly cheap and they can also cut it to size for you.
