Hello

I am from the UK but every Tunze post I've read via Google seems to be answered by your Tunze guy here!

So...

Pump 1: had this for a while connected to a 7092 and works fine on the pulse setting that I had it on the last couple of months. Has the white propeller.

Pump 2: received this today as a second hand unit but practically unused. Looks absolutely brand new and the propeller is blue.

I got my 7092 and changed it to pulse with two controllers but pump 2 is having real trouble spinning up. It seems like it's getting stuck because it tenses then the pulse goes and when the pulse comes back it usually doesn't succeed in a spin.

Basically it is failing to spin up about 90% or more of the time.

I then swapped the propellers of the two and pump 1 works like it always has and pump 2 is still struggling.

I also then changed my 7092 to wave box mode so each pump alternates from 0% to 100%. Pump 2 struggling still. Annoyingly, pump 1 makes a knocking noise quite frequently.

First priority is pump 2, how do I solve this given that it's practically brand new and old and new style propellers are failing but working in pump 1?

Many thanks
Scott

And just to clarify the pumps ability to work:

I have it in my tank right this second running completely fine on 24v at full speed.

But it took several attempts of pulling the power in and out until it finally decided to run.

So, in the controller with the constant on/off it fails a lot of the time. It is failing in starting the spinning action from zero power. Not every single time, only most of the time :(

This is nearly impossible to diagnose without having the pump and controller. I would contact Tunze UK about repair. The possibilities as a I see it-

1) Break in the pump cable causing an intermittent short or loss of connection.
2) Water damage to the controller, cable from the controller or pump socket.
3) Break in the cable from the controller, keep in mind all these cables have 5 tiny wires inside and if they are pulled or pinched, one can break and make intermittent contact.
4) Something wrong with the motor electronics, a factory defect.
5) A propeller that binds due to a bowed shaft or improper fit/molding of the drive unit (less likely since you swapped propellers, the bowed shaft is a possibility).

These are all difficult to diagnose as they tend to be intermittent or only occur in specific scenarios.
