on of my clowns keeps dancing infront of the other and has done this for a couple of days now..well i was thinking this was a spawning dance but they are 1 1/4" and about 1 1/2" and i was told by a local LFS that they were too small for spawning. so could this just mean they are a pair and just not spawning yet or is the LFS wrong??

1 is submitting to the other. the one doing the most dancing will prolly be the male. It is a good sign the are establsihing thier adult relation ships.

i have had them almost 6 months and before that they were in a friends nano togather..right now they are in a 90gal and happy as can be

+1
its common mine does the same thing

now they are cleaning off a a flat shelf beside the nem. isnt this what they do when the female is about to lay?? and i was told they were too small to spawn..was that bad info?

Mine do the same thing. They are to small to spawn, but that doesn't stop them from practicing. My male will even rub his belly on the clean spot and quiver.
Here's a pic of the little fella showing off for his girlfriend.

I just picked up a mate for my clown 2 days ago,

She (the original one) accepted him right away and was
doing a come over here dance to het him into the anemone.

They are now both happy and playing in the anemone.

well today i just got a pair of true mated maroon clowns today..the guy i bought them from was breeding them and he said they lay every 29 days..he has moved them twice and says they only take 18 days to become secure enough to lay again. so hopefully i will have some maroon fry soon
