Pair of Seahorses how long till they breed?

Assuming u have a pair of seahorses (Hippocampus barbouri) how long will it take for them to start spawning in your tank provided tank parameters are in check and feeding appopriately?

assuming you have a pair of mated seahorses... i still dont think that can be scheduled but i'm not sure. Do you know if you have a male and a female? (male's abdomians will extend farther down the tail than the females due to their pouch)

I dont actually have a pair at the moment but wanting to get one, still researching seahorses, just wondering how long id have to wait supposing i have a adult pair before theyd start to spawn? have clowns that a nearly ready to spawn now, after nearly a year. Ive been waiting a while, but in the meantime have setup live phyto cultures, and rots etc. IS there a significant wait period with seahorses?

There is no set time period. Sometimes it takes months, sometimes years IME.

Just so ya know, many of the CB barbs being sold are shipped as juvies.

Thanks pledosophy i thought that might be the case, everything takes time in this hobby, ill do a bit more researching on seahorses. Given i am talking about an adult pair though is there still a long wait time i.e as you mentioned a year. I was wondering if they are relatively easily spawners, i.e like peppermint shrimp.
