Paired up

I've had a true perc for some time now and she's about 3 inches long. My wife and I were at the LFS Sunday and spotted a little guy about an inch long with the EXACT same markings. We picked him up and introduced him. He got picked on a couple times, but way less agression than I anticipated.
This morning I come out to find him in the anemone with her. Yay, 36 hours after his introduction they've paired !!!

The little boy is on the left of the pic.

Either paired up or tolerated. Hopefully paired. If the little one tail dances and shakes in front of her, then pairing is probably the case.

As a matter of fact, he would vibrate his whole body in front of her. Sound good to me.

Wow. Sounds great!!! I wish my old Clarkii Clowns would have done the same!!! But I sold them to my LFS. They were kind of teaming up on my Royal Gramma at the time. But congrats on the Clowns!!!

Awesome!! I know how you feel, I paired my Gold Stripe Maroons this past weekend. Its a great feeling to know that we can play match makers.

I'm all kinds of excited !
Now I'll give them a while and do LOTS of reading about breeding. Meanwhile all their tankmates will have an extra food source. :)

I'm curious how you went about it?? I have a very small male that was part of a pair, of which the larger female didn't survive. She died about 6 months after I got them for no apparent reason. The little guy has been by himself in his own tank (minus the cleaner shrimp and a few snails) since then. Did you get a significantly larger or smaller for your existing fish?

I went significantly smaller, like half the size of my female. I'm not sure how that works with adding a female. Maybe twice as big ?
