Pairing advice?

I recently got some new pairs from a friend (JJFly here) . One of them is a split pair, B&W female with normal oc male. They are a pair but have never spawned, he's had them maybe less than a year. So would it make more sense to split them up and get another B&W? Would I get some bw's out of the mixed pair? My inclination is to split them but I'm open to opinions.

Hi David,

Talk to 'GUY' over at RDO ,,, he has a spawning pair where one is a regular and one a Darwin. He posts here as well but I don;t know his ID,,,,I'll PM you his email address.

I tried the same thing,,, the small orange male was all-over the Black female for about a year and she just didn't appear interested,,,, I stuck a small Darwin in there with her and they spawned within a few months.

From what I have read in one report is the offspring of the black x orange mix are muddy orange. I don't know how long the babies were given to grow into their color.
Seems like there would be no reason to keep the mixed couple together unless you were trying to restore some vigor to the line. Not telling how many generations it would take to get the pure black back if the first parpagraph is true.
