Pairing black percs

I've had two black percs since late November. The one, which I assume to be the male, has been doing the spasming behavior since Dec. or so. I was wondering how long it normally takes for the two to pair. Also, the clowns were quite young when I got them, barely over an inch. One is about 2.5" and the other is 2".

if these were wild caught, the size essentially tells you nothing as in the wild they could be non-mating and stay small like that.

As for the pairing, I'm in the same boat as you. I have to regular Ocs that have figured out their pecking order, but no spawns yet... obviously, they still have some things to work out...
