Pairing Blonde Naso Tangs - Experience?

Hi All,

As some of you know I have upgraded tanks. I am slowly adding my livestock into the new tank (520g). I have a male blonde naso and considering adding a female.

Has anyone successfully kept an adult pair of blonde nasos?

How were the paired?

My male is about 8" in length and is currently not in the 520. My plan would be for a female around the same size and introduce at the same time.

The 520g - is 96" x 42" x 30" (LxWxH) and very open aquascaping.

Any advice especially experience would be appreciated. I know of two local people who tried it once one was already established and it did not work out.

I've done it with Vlamingi. I had a vlamingi trio and it was very simple to do... I don't think you'll have a problem as long as they are introduced at the same time or a larger one is introduced second.

In my experience the Naso genus is very peaceful.

What size were the vlamingi and what size tank?

Thanks!

The two smallest were 2" and the third was 2 1/2"... They are in my 250 but will be going to my friends 3,000+ system. They grow fast and it is that time to give them a better home. They are about 4 1/2" and the bigger is 5" about now.

I know many would frown on 250 but the fish are extremely healthy and get 24/7 attention even when I am not there. I prefer to get fish as small as possible and watch them mature.

Would I have another naso genus without having a tank 1,000 g or bigger? No, I would love to have one from 1" to almost full grown and see the change, but smaller tanks like a 250 and even 500 would not give the fish exactly what they need to reach full growth (obviously). Hopefully when my huge tank is done I will, but right now I'm focusing on my Manhattan rare angel sps tank.

Cheers mate.

I have two blonde naso's. I added them at the same time, a smaller one toghether with my male. The smaller one is almost the same size as my male now and they get along fine. But I don't think they are a mated pair yet.
