Pairing chromis

Hey all,

I am well aware of both sides of the discussion around keeping groups of chromis in tanks. However, do they ever get along as a pair? I have a single larger very healthy and established individual and would like to pair him/her up if they'd get along. Should I just add one or two smaller ones? Or is this probably not going to work out.

It will be very hit or miss for you as far as the pairings go. If you buy a group be prepared to have some die, 10 months ago I bought 25 chromis now I have 11

I have had a pair together for going on 3 years. They occasionally chase but generally just hang out together in the tank. I did start with 3 originally though.

I started with 4 about 3 years ago. I have 2 now. Always together. Ones an inch the other 2 inches.

I would be hesitant if you already have one established. I also have read many negative comments about them over the past several months. I currently have 3 that were added together about a year ago and no issues at all so I guess I am one of the lucky ones.

No offense to a chromis but aren't there other considerations aside from another chromis?
