Pairing Clarkii Clowns

I'm sure this is a common topic among clownfish keepers. I have a 7 year old tank bred Clarkii Clownfish purchased from Petco of all places, but she's been through a lot and is very healthy shown by her X-large 6'' length and her frequent egg laying. I want to try to pair her with a male or subadult male. I plan on getting a small clarkii and adding it to my 180 with my female, but I'm wondering whether it makes a difference whether the male is tank bred or wild caught?

I'd get her a CB mate. They're already adapted to captivity and are far less likely to be harboring parasites or disease. CB Clarkiis are widely available--Live Aquaria is a good source. IMO, at her size your female is going to be able to pair off with most any CB Clarkii. They're generally sold at a young (juvenile) age and will be so much smaller than her that there won't be much of a fight for dominance.

BTW, is that her in your avatar? She's a beauty!

That's what I figured, thanks. And, yes that is her about 6 years ago. They still look the same too me now even though clown and nem grew. The nem is almost triple that size and she grew 3-4'' to even it out.

This is her now in my 180, which is almost triple her original tank. 3 seems to be a common theme.
