pairing clowns - how mych time?

I thinking of getting 1 wild female clwon and a small male for breeding.

how much time do U think should be breeding?

If they are 100% the sex you want them to be,
then it could take anywhere from 2 weeks to their next lifetime to mate and breed.

Not every pair will breed.
But under great feeding and water quality and if/when they get comfortable,
they could breed in a few months.

From what I have been reading... 3 months is good.

My pair took about 4-5 months..but that is with a full tank of fish,
and I also added two small ones to one large fat female.
Might have been sooner if I only added the one small.

Make sure you have the right parameters.

A lighting schedule with LED moon lights wont hurt.

Feed well with assortment of live, frozen and hearty foods.
Keep the temp stable and place some clay pots or tiles in there area to help you in the long run.

I have pile of rock. when they start to breed I will change it.
the tank is in my living room. I most have some beauty.

Just dont change the tank around when they spawn, this may make them stop all together.

Just add in the clay pot or tile at the place they lay eggs (after they hatch)

I wouldn't count on 3 months. It really depends on the clowns too.

My pink skunk pair took about 2 years to start spawning. My SI Perc pair it was about 14 months.

I need it for a project. I don't have more then 4 month to gave them.

Unless you buy a proven egg-laying pair, I doubt that you'll get them to breed in 4 months (& if you do, are you prepared to hatch & raise the young fry with all that entails?) It can take longer than that for a pair to figure out the whole dominance/submission roles. I'd suggest you get the great book 'Clownfishes' by Joyce D. Wilkerson for plenty info on captive care, breeding, etc. Good luck!

Don't use living beings for projects. If you want a breeding pair to keep even after your little 'project' then buy a breeding pair. Once they settle in (normally about 3 months) they'll start to breed.
I got 2 SI Percs at 2 months old and they became a pair instantly, and by instantly I mean no fighting of who is who. The male is the same size (less than 1/2") and the female is a bit bigger than one inch. They're still very cute!
