Pairing Clowns Over Again

I have a quick question. I have a pair of black and white ocellaris clowns, dominant one being about 1 1/4" long (give or take) and the submissive being 1" (again give or take). At the frag swap I attended, there was a local breeder that had little snowflakes (probably just got full striping and small enough that they had to fight the BTA tentacles to rub). I was going to get one ($25) and pair it up with my submissive b&w ocellaris. I know this will work, but how well would it work to put the dominant (juvie) b&w with a percula (been alone since October in a separate tank) that is 1 1/2-3/4" long? Would it be asking for trouble or is the b&w still too small to have a gender?

you have it backwards in your pairing. i would put the snowflake with the dominate BW occy and the submissive smaller BW occy with the perc. the dominate of clowns is the female, and a clown that is left lone will be a female. so you were gonna put 2 potentially females together and would caused serious fighting. a clown can go from juvie to a male then the male can turn into a female. but once its turning into a female, it cannot go back to male. and a clown all alone, old enough (over 9 mo old or so) will begin to turn female in less than 2 weeks.

Okay, thanks. I was hoping to pair the snowflake with the most black ocellaris. The dominant ocellaris isn't as black, but I guess it isn't as old as the submissive one. The eventual male of the ocellaris pair was larger to begin with than the eventual female (I was thinking they would end up the other way around). I will do it the way I should as the ocellaris pair is about 9 mo old now.
