Pairing Diamond Watchman Gobies

Hey everyone, looking for some advice here.

I have had a diamond watchman goby for nearly 18months now, he his happy and fat and is a very entertaining fish to watch.

I want to get him a mate, and I know that there is no way of determining the sex of him. So is there a tried and tested method here? Would you simply buy another diamond watchman from the LFS and place them in the same quarantine tank?

A) would they fight if they were both male?
would they fight if they were both female?
C) would the male attack the female at first?

What should I look out for to know that they are of opposite sex?

Another spanner in the works is that the one I have now is an adult, and most that I see in the store are juveniles, what effect is this going to have on the process?

Any help would be amazing.

Thanks

Tough question.Valenciennea gobies are often sold as mated pairs. So your simplest solution would be to return your fish to the LFS and wait for a pair:fun2:
But since you won't like that aproach, the following option would be to purchase a smaller fish and keep them separated with a clear partition for some time and then introduce them to each other under supervision.Good luck!
