I recently located a small fire clown for the large ag female that we have.(was told initially that it was a tomato but have discovered that it is a fire clown) any how....
the fish that we just got was a part of a pair before but lost its mate and was donated/adopted to our home.
our question is this.
the original clown is about 2 1/2" and the new one is about an inch. upon initially introducing there was quite a bit of chasing but not a lot of actual biting being done. The larger one seems to chase the smaller behind a rock in the corner where the smaller fish seems to camp out now.
the 2 of them pretty much ignore each other @ this point with the little one really stays in the corner behind a rock and ventures out about 6" but darts back as soon as it sees the larger fish. The big fish swims the tank but chills out in his corner by his anemone.
We are a bit new and can't seem to find too much info on fire clowns and the behavior to expect when trying to pair.
Is what we are seeing normal behavior for adjusting behavior?
