Pairing maroon clowns

i had a pair of maroon clowns for about 4yrs and the male died on me the other day. My wife thought it would be nice if she got me a new one. Now granted she didnt put him in the tank, but she was floating him as I arrived home. I just put him in the tank with her and there is the minor squabbling but she has already let him in the her 10" blue carpet. She gives him a good pop every now and then but for the most part she has accepted him or so i think.

So my question is when i leave for a bit tonight do you think its necessary for me to seperated them.

The tank is a 24 gallon with little rock, so the hiding spots are limited for the little one, and she is 5.5 inches so she is a beast.

I paired up 2 maroons a few weeks ago and it only took 2 days for them to pair up. First day was a lot of posturing and a few bumps, nothing violent, and the second day consisted of her letting him into the anemone. I'd say you're pretty much ahead of the curve if she's allowing him into the anemome. I'm reading into your post a bit to assume there's a pretty significant size differential between the two, and if that's the case, there really may not be much of a struggle for dominance and she may not see him as a threat. I personally would feel relatively confident that things may work out for the best.

Sounds like you've got a pair happening - if she was going to reject him, my guess is she would have killed him already. She certainly wouldn't have allowed him into her nem. Keep an eye on them, but I think you got lucky!
