I recently bought a bonded pair of snowflake clownfish from Diver's Den. The female, or larger of the two, unfortunately died in QT. I would like to get another ocellaris clownfish, so that I could have a pair again. The surviving clownfish I have is a little under 2 inches.
I've done some reading on pairing clownfish and fee like I have a general understanding of how everything works, but I still have a few questions.
I was wondering at what size is an ocellaris clownfish considered juvenile?
What would be the best way for me to go about pairing my clownfish? I would like to get buy another clownfish for pairing next week.
The other clownfish would be alone for 8 weeks, if I buy the other next week. Would he start turning female in that amount of time?
Right now, Diver's Den has a single 2" snowflake clownfish that I could get.
Right now, most of the ocellaris my LFS has are all larger and more mature fish, 3-3 1/2". Should I get a single one of these, assuming that it is female?
I appreciate any and all advice.
