pairing Regal Angels

anyone have any thoughts/experience with pairing regal angels?...I presently have an 4"+ Indo Regal for about a year, that is doing great, eats everything (except corals)...a YB Regal (almost the exact same size) that has been tank raised for over 2 years is now available.

Is there any chance that these 2 could co-exist in either my 450g or 300DD...I may put them together in a 120g QT to see how they do together, so that they can be quickly separated if necessary.

anyone ever tried it?

Yes, however not with crossing an Indo-Pacific and a Red Sea "YB", nor specimens of identical size ...

I would personally suggest separating them for a period of 1-2wks in the QT, via eggcrate/acrylic. Keep them well feed/nourished/vitamin supplemented.

Then, on a day where you will be available for a few hours of observation, remove the translucent barrier while simultaneously feeding their respective section(s) of the QT, ensuring food is present in each "territory"/section.

At this time pay close attention to aggressive behavior(s), however, unless there is apparent risk of serious damage to either specimen DO NOT intervene.

Also, at this time I would suggest adding other specimen(s) to the QT in order to distract/disrupt territorial tendencies ...

Pictures, or better yet video of the individual specimens, especially during the initial interaction(s) would be helpful.

Report your findings/observations here. Best of Luck !

Had planned on the Eggcrate partition... But appreciate the separate feeding and 'dither' fish suggestion

This probably won't happen for a month or 2, but I will report back!
Thanks
