Pairing up Gold Stripe Maroons

Yes, I know these are a tough one... Right now I have a 2-3/4 inch(+) one in my 210 gallon and I'm looking to get another one... Should I go with a....

Small: 3/4" to 1-1/4"
OR
Medium: 1-1/4" to 2"

Any information would be helpful...

As small as you can find - and if I were you I would introduce it slowly using a strawberry basket or anything clear you can rig so that the small one can go in and escape the larger one if necessary...

No problem. Your goal is to find a safe haven for the little guy - and be prepared. Some larger GSM females will just not take the first little offering! She could kill him if she wanted... If she is very agressive and doesn't stop with the little one - you may have to try a different one... But as long as he has somewhere he can go aways from her (but where they can still see each other - this should help)

Be prepared to remove the small one if it's getting beaten up. I was not so luckey, my large female killed it's intended mate. good luck.
