All my fish got extremly pale and died in about 24hr span. Inverts seem unaffected. I do a weekly water change my Ammonia was between.50 -.74 Nitrate was 0 salenity was fine too??????????? What the heck. It was said they all layed on their side at the bottom of my tank. Looked like they were gasping for air. any ideas?

Ammonia poisoning causes labored breathing and eventually death. Did you significantly increase your bioload by adding several fish at once?

May be something dead somewhere. An established tank should never have any ammonia. Odd that your inverts are OK; but inverts surviving high ammonia seems to show up on our forum a lot. You should keep an ammonia-neutralizer (Prime<Ammo-Lock), etc. on hand and use it as soon as any ammonia shows up. Your ammonia test will probably still show ammonia, but the Prime, whatever, has made it harmless.

Strange. I agree that maybe something died and caused an amonia spike. unless you dosed something that could have killed your nitrifying bacteria off. So sorry for your losses. When was the last fish added?
