paly and zoa

This question is more than open to both speculation and data. If you wouldn't mind, please let me know which of the two you are offering me.

Any ideas why in my tank palys thrive and zoas wither??

Its a 50 gal bare bottom tank that stays very clean and my nitrogens are almost always zero. The rest of the parameters are always good per LFS. I use my standard recipe for mixing water that Ive used for years. My lights are LEDs split between 6500K and 450nm. Light is sufficient for SPS and the effect takes place in all levels of the aquarium from 2 1/2 feet from the source to 6 inches.

Im at a loss. Ideas or data both appreciated.

????????????

Thanks cloak, I think u got it. I just put these zoos in the tank last week. They looked great for two days then something white on it. Look at the red shroom and I think u can see them easier. Now the zoos are closing up and it looks like they have blisters.

Any input ?z1.jpg

Here's a picture of some of my Zoanthids that were infected with Zoa-Pox one time. It was quite distinct, so what your seeing could be something else. Sometimes bits of sand can get caught up on the stalks and Spirorbid worms have been known to grow on them too. You might want to take a brush and see if you can remove whatever it is that your seeing. If they don't seem to come off and start to get worse, Furan-2 seems to be the go to cure. GL.
