I have a ton of these palys and I think it's time to sell off a few but I'd like to know what it is at least.

Well based on googling those names I think they are green implosions but they look a lot like button polyps too.

They're basic Green button polyps, but like the Z's and P's name game someone had to put a name on it too. So I guess folks are now calling these GI's. Still wouldn't allow those polyps on my main rock.

Can't believe somebody has really named them. One of the old standards in the hobby.

button polyp is slang for zoa, paly, sea mat etc. it's the "type" of polyp not a color ...ya know back before everything had to have a cute name :headwally:
Have some that look like yours, some brown/gold, some that look like the "electric green paly" all old school and I'd never let any touch my main rock. I only keep them for sentimental reasons they were my first zoas, button polyps, palys etc...many years ago.

Well having a name like green implosion makes me like it more than green button polyps, lol. I'm in the process of getting rid of all them for my main rock and most of it is off but there are a few. I did sell a frag yesterday when I posted it for sale and in contact with another guy so hopully I can find enough people to take them. If not Ill probally give them away. Gotta make room for the stuff I've pre ordered for the indmas frag swap!!!

good luck on the getting them off the rocks, they develop really strong grip and have rather thick mat and stems.

Thanks, I made frags of these probably 2 months ago and a few grew off the frag to the rock it was on so that didn't help any, lol. I found it easiest to take the rock they are on and scrape under then and it pulls them up very nicely. No new buyers today so probably in a week I'll have a bunch of free frags.
