I really don't think those are nuclear greens, just nice colored button polyps.

I agree. Nuclear greens are bigger and flatter. those look kinda cone-ish, more like regular button polyps to me...

Relying on shape and size isn't really going to be a good identifier (most of the time, but not always). I have Nukes that came (through a roundabout fashion-2nd or 3rd gen) from the namer of the coral. Mine are smaller than eraser heads, as are my PD's (which came second gen from the namer). However, to get technical, they aren't Nuclear Greens because they obviously don't follow lineage (or you'd know it and would have paid for it;)). Not everyone follows strict guidelines on named corals through lineage, though. Most corals can't be easily traced back or are so common that there is no use in tracing back. A handful of people out there would insist on lineage on certain corals. I do and don't subscribe to that mode of thought, depending on what we are talking about.

That said, they look more pastel neon green than any other Palythoa sp. I've seen (not counting Nukes). I'd say that is a nice find:).

I agree, they are much nicer than your average button polyp. They're like a poor mans nuclear greens :p Lineage aside I don't think they're even the same species as Nuclear Greeens. Good I hate all these silly names...

So there not Nukes and not named ? How do we know that the other nukes in the country didnt come from the wild colonie of nukes that the named ones came from ?

Mine have never had their stalks extend anywhere near that far. Maybe 1/8".

Those are sweet though, almost the same color. Great find!
