I bought a kenya tree frag about 2 months ago and it happen to have 7 paly polyps on it. Well I put it in the tank and 3 of them detatched right away.

These pics are about a week after I got them.

Here is the frag with the kenya tree and the 4 remaining polyps.

And here is a picture of the 3 polyps that fell off and I glued onto a piece of rubble rock.

and 2 months later...

the kenya frag still looks the same however the palys have spread on it as well.
I would have thought the kenya would have grown faster. I guess not.;)

Edit: The kenya tree and the palys irritate each other but they are attatched at the hip. You can see who wins by the looks of the ragged looking top edge of polyp where the tree rubs it.

Ha, your right, it does look like aiptasia :) but they are definately Palys. They slimed up when I glued them and I target feed them mysis shrimp once in a while. They eat aggressively. ;)

be careful that kenya tree can start releasing chemicals from being in close proximity to other corals

Or worse, as it gets bigger, it'll start dropping babies, and before you know it, you'll have little kenya trees all over your tank! :D

Yes thats what happened to me! I have little Kenyas everywhere...worked out well since some attached to rubble and I can sell them off. Also I have noticed my mushrooms going for a walk!

Good to know. Will it harm my water or will it just harm the palys next to it? If it just the palys I'm not too worried, they will apparently move if they're not happy. :D
