Are these Paly's? And also...if you look close at the top of the colony (frag, whatever) at the polyp that is closed and theres 2 at the bottom also that have never opened. Are those dead you think? If so...should i remove them? Thanks....
Those are definitely Palythoa sp., unlike what a lot of people seem to call Palythoa ! Closed polyps can last for months in nature just fine (i.e. over winter) and then reopen, so yeah, I agree, just leave the closed ones and see what happens...

Well if the info was accurate in that thread then i would have to beleive these are protopaly's, based on the fact that my polyps are not embeded in the matt. It also mentioned something about proto's taking up sand? Should i place these on the sand instead of on my LR? Or better yet....anyone have a link for more detailed info on this? Thanks all...
