panther grouper

Just purchased a new panther grouper and dripped acclimated him for 3 hours and as soon as he touched the water he became fish food for my Volitan. I never had fed any live fish to him and I thought the Panther was big enough that this wouldn't be an issue. I am ready to rid myself of this lionfish he eats nonstop and is out growing my tank anyways. Boy am I BUMMED that little grouper did not stand the chance worst part is my 8 year old daughter witnessed it.

Sorry the little one witnessed that but the grouper is just going to do the same thing in a few months. They eat the same way, anything that fits in their mouth. You do know that a panther grouper gets 27" long and turns an ugly muddy brown? If the Volitans is outgrowing the tank, the Grouper gets about bigger than the Lion.

I was going to say the same thing.

I also completely agree on the ugliness of adult panther groupers.
