PAr meter

OK, I was descided to start a new thread here for this as it has become more of something I have taken some ownership over. I think the club should buy one but I think the cons outweigh the pros for that to happen. Not to mention we dont have enough in the paypal to buy one. I am sure we have the cash but I am not in charge of that and am unsure of the balance. I think we pulled in about $30 at the last meeting but the look down box was $22.90 so the club made $7 Plus the ink cartridge for the printer was $41. As of today we are at $303. Just a little FYI. OK enough about finances.

Ok, I am going to order the light meter today actually. I would like some sort of deposit from those that want this done. At least half or the full amount.
This will just help me assure that its going to be worth my while.

I have on the list right now
Dave
Rob
Josh
Chad

I know all of really well and know you are good for it I am placing the order for the light meter today. MAybe over the thanks giving weekend we can get some readings. Ill have a 4 days weekend. Woot!

no problem at all. I think this will be very informative for us all. Dave, Josh, and David have all paid. Thanks guys. I called and confirmed that they had it in stock in it ships today. Should have wednesday. Wanted to make sure it wasnt dropped shipped.

Thanks again. Mojo~

I think this could be some really interesting information once we get the numbers from several club members tanks. I would like to post this to the web site once we have compiled it if you guys don't mind.

I also wanted to say thank you to Jesse for making this happen.

Not a problem, I will be taking pics of the tank and putting the numbers in like most do. Should be pretty cool. I can forward the pics to david when done unless someone doesnt want me to do that. I hope this will settle some questions we all have on T5's and halides ect... Should be nice in checking when bulbs start going bad as well.

Corey i will be home sunday till 1 pm. Everyone else has paid already. Thanks guys. The tracking # shows it to be here next week so I plan on getting a hold of people after I get it and we will try to get a few of you done next weekend, after Turkey day.

Should be interesting comparing the TEK fixture on Robs tank, To my ATI fixture, To Davids dual 250 radiums ect... comparing it so some retros too.
Thanks again.
Mojo~

Jesse I would seriously be interested in this once I get set up....it would be interesting to see the progression etc. Let me know and I can paypal the $$ to you

Not a problem Lorna it will give a very good representation of when the bulbs are shot too. So I would do it when the bulbs are pretty new and go from there.

Thanks Jesse just shoot me a pm with the amount you need me to paypal you.... :)

going to set up the new tank this week..... :)

Well I have a long weekend next weekend to get it up and running. I ran down to PA today and picked out about 30lbs or so of Bali Alor live rock and the substrate, salt and all that heavy stuff. Jeff and I will attempt to start to build the stand tomorrow......the tank is really nice. My only issue is going to be with the electrical and cord management..... gotta get that figured out.

This is going to be a really cool tool. Some of us have great luck with certain types of corals and others not so much. I think this will help us identify issues with lighting. For instance, most of my acros are doing fine. But, my red planet doesn't compare to Jessie's. Once I see what par his red planet is getting, then I will be able to move mine to match the par in my tank. Pretty sweet...I can't wait.
