Par Meter

I was fourth in line almost two years ago and I still haven't seen it. Could you please get me on the list. I promise I wouldn't keep it for several months. :)

Lol, here is the original list. How many have used it?

Jack
Brian
Steve
Mike
Wayne
Lindsey
Chris S
Chris C
Jason
Phu
CloudIX
Chris Cr
Rick

Wow, had no idea that this was as big a can of worms as this!!!

Maybe this is the kind of thing that our elected officials should be looking at and preventing from happening.

I'm not saying we should stick to the old list since I haven't even heard from a lot of the people but if someone uses it I don't see any reason for them to keep it 6 months. :) I have no hard feelings since I know things happen and it was probably just forgotten but I think we need to get it moving again.

One thing I have been wanting to test is what affect a new capacitor has on a MH ballast. I have one that has always been a little dimmer and I have a new cap for it coming today. It would be interesting to see if it helps the par. I know Wooglin was told by Hamilton (I think) that they should be replaced periodically.

This is the reason that one member of the board NOW has control of the club equipment and everyone must go through him to request and return it. Right now the official is Brandon, and this is a fairly new requirement that we started just for the reasons listed above.

I hope everyone can appreciate the effort Brandon takes to keep track of our equipment and will cooperate with using it including the suction cups. It is the clubs equipment for use by all club members, and we need to please keep it moving along in a timely manner so everyone who wants, will have an opportunity to use it.

Thanks to all the club members for your cooperation with this.

This is the list as best I can tell. Some folks in this list have used it, some may not want to use it anymore. This is in the order of "next up".

Brandon -- can you get something going such that the folks on this list that still want to use it can have at it in a reasonably timely fashion? Maybe start a PAR meter checkout thread that is simply updated with the list of who is in line, and where it is. That'll make sure everyone knows where the thing is and when they can expect to use it.

Thanks to all for responding to what i believe is just someone being a little lazy in returning something they borrowed. Thread idea is a good way to track it in the future if that don't work i still know some guy's from, well never mind. Some sort of fine or penalty for not returning on time might also be an option. If you have a better idea lets hear it!

Laugh, I think some kind of check list is in order and will help keep up with it. It easy to forget things as busy as we all are with jobs, families, bills, etc. Whenever Poolkeeper gets it I'll just get it from him just let me know who I need to pass it off to next. Thanks

To be honest, Bill, I don't consider this to be too big of a can of worms. ;) It is just something that hasn't been fully addressed... yet. :)

I am looking at this one right now http://webtrolley.org/mivastore/mer...=apogee&Product_Code=MQ-200&Category_Code=BQM

It is supposidly a newer version of the one the club has but it has the capability to store readings and download them into a computer. Would be interesting to see how the intensity changes during the day. It is supposidly just coming out so I sent an e-mail to see if it is available yet. I may get one if it is.

That link appears to be ONLY for a sensor, not the meter as well. They do sell meters with sensors, but not the meter that is pictured in the link, and none of them appear to have any sort of interface.
