Par Meters

No Sorry. Apogee is the only one I know of. What lighting do you have? You could ask other people with a similar light as yours, that will give you an idea of what your light is putting out. For example my 250w MH setup puts out around 2200-2500 at the light depending on the bulb. Also check your local reef clubs a member may have one that you can use.

Its an Led light. I took a chance with a new company "Auraled" and the owner says 1000 par at 30" but wanted to make sure before I put my anemone in there. The light just came in today and looks great. Its super bright and lights up my whole tank perfectly, but its only 250 watts. My lfs told me that there is no way that it will be anywhere near 1000 par due to the lack of wattage and before I get ****ed off and think that I got screwed I wanted to make sure.

Yeah, Im not sure how much of that was exagerated but I just need to know that it wont kill my corals and anemone. The price of the light is what got me to buy it, it only cost $1050 with a full 2 year warranty. I couldnt pass it up.

Well, buying based on price often means buying more often. The claim of 1000 PAR at 30 inches seems inconceivable to me.

1000 par would be way to much for your corals anyways, go to your LFS, I know the one here in Tucson, and even one in Phoenix has a par meter that they lend out.

My lfs doesnt have a par meter. I already tried there. I saw a web site that rents out the apogee mq 200 but they want a $500 deposit. How crazy is that!:eek2: Im sure that I would get my deposit back, but thats a chance Im not willing to take.

Yeah I rented one from a LFS here is Arizona as well. Reef Culture has one to rent out. They want a $500 deposite so they know they will get the meter back, they only cost around $300 so anyone would be dumb to keep it. I have never seen the LED light you are using nor ever herd of it. The big thing is what LEDs it is using and the watts. ALL the good LED lights use 3w Cree LEDs from what I have seen.

I have been trying to find the site where I found the par meter for rent without any luck. Incredibly frustrating! I remember they wanted a $500 deposit and it was $10 per day, $40 per week, and I think $140 for a month, and they took the amount out of the deposit.
