PAR readings for Mars Aqua LED

About two years ago I decided to stop spending my money on expensive LED brands and give a chance to a "cheap" LED lights that I heard lots of good stuff about.

I didn't regret. Corals are growing like a weed. Fantastic colors.... Most natural light appearance.... and my wallet is happy as well.... much more available money for new corals......

I decided to do a video with PAR values for the lights in my tank.

I didn't see that anyone did PAR measurements for these lights so far... so it might be useful for some of you guys.

Note that video is made in November.... but I was kinda lazy to finish it and upload it until now .... that being said, tank looks much different today - corals are much bigger and I have few new species.... so I'll do new fresh video soon as well.

I like the values........match the optimum values...........200-400 micromols......

You got the optimum reading in the middle of water column.......

The Corals respond positivelly..........

You can see similar reading in the tests of Orphek Atlantik V4.......

For people that are not familiar with this subject.......is good to say that below 200 micromols the Photosynthesis do not start............and above 400 micromols the Photosynthesis stops..........

How the LED fixture is made have a link with PAR distribution........and I like how this fixture was made..........distributing the light homogeneous.......similar what T5 do.......

about the spectrum quality......more close to the optimum is better......according the two peaks of the PAR.......called PUR.......

the first one at 435nm......Blue.......and the second peak at 657nm......Red.......

this "quality" depends how the fixture was made........the right percentage of Blue and Red LEDs.........

White LEDs will bring some wavelenghts at Yellow and Green spectrum......desired in small percentage.........

I like the test.........is good give to people some background information.........specially the relationship between PAR Reading according to the height of the fixture from the water surface.............cuz the height of the fixture will change the PAR Reading..........

give this info is great for people that do not have the PAR meter.......

This is my tank now.
There have been few small changes - got bored of some corals and exchanged them for better ones... but most of the corals are still with me since the beginning.
