Parameters after 1st week of cycle

Ok where might I get pure ammonia? Pet LFS? Grocery store? And what is the name of it? I'm gonna lmao if you say Ammonia lol.

But seriously, thanks for your help Nereefpat!

Here is the question you want answered.

The answer is:

Dose tank with pure ammonia. Put in enough to get 1-2ppm NH3 in the tank. Test to make sure that you hit your target of 1-2ppm.

24hrs later, test ammonia again. If properly cycled, bacteria in the tank will process the ammonia, and the ammonia reading will be 0ppm.
Oh and how much would you suspect to be "enough" ammonia for 1-2ppm in a 30 gallon?

I just got a three inexpensive blue chromis fish as a starter. They are still doing fine. My wife calls them the 3 amigos.

My dry rock soaked in saltwater trash bin for a couple weeks while i got my tank. I cleaned crud off the dry rock, aquascaped and dropping in some LFS live rock so I have corraline algae present. About 2 week after getting setup I added fish. I dont think I needed to wait that long I was waiting for lights. I never measured any ammonia. It took a several weeks before I measured nitrate/phosphate.

Yea I've got a sneaking suspicion that my tank went through little to no cycle, as stated earlier. Although I did go to Ace Hardware last night and purchased a small bottle of Ammonia. But I can't for the life of me, bring myself to put it in my tank lol. Not that any of the advice given about using it to see if it goes down in 24 hours was wrong. But I am just afraid that it wouldn't go down (as I recently read a story where one put in the ammonia, and it stayed at 2ppm) So I think I'll wait it out lol

Yea i not a fan of putting anything in my tank I dont need to chemical wise. No need to get in a hurry. That said IMHO you are ready for a fish, its been almost 2 weeks and you started with live rock.
