Paranoia and QT

I recently had an outbreak of Velvet that came from some sort of invert - clam, Fighting Conch, or Turbo Snail - the last things added for quite some time that ended in a massive fish loss.

I totally rebooted my DT, and my gut reaction is to QT everything - snails, shrimp, etc.

For experience, if I am getting inverts from an invert provider such as Reef Cleaners, do I need to do this? It basically means 75 days of qt to ensure that parasites are dead, right?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, yes. I lost 5 fish this summer about three weeks after adding some snails and a cleaner shrimp (from a local per store). I am pretty sure it was velvet. All fish came out of the display for 10 weeks. Recently, I added a couple of new fish and both have marine ich. I must still have that in the display. This hobby really sucks sometimes.
