My eiblii has something on it's eye. The same thing WAS on it's other eye then it went away entirely. After about a week this one appeared on his other eye. I figured that it fought off the parasite or whatever it is but this one has been around for a while now. Any idea what it is and how to treat it? No other fish in the tank show symptoms of anything. Sorry for the poor photos =]

Neobenedenia melleni - egg-laying skin fluke. That's a big one - probably means there are many smaller ones on the fish and on other fish. A proper praziquantel treatment is the best course of action. It will eventually kill the fish, but not all species will be affected to the same degree.

When I grow my parasites I grow 'em big =]

Thanks for the info, I started the treatment. hopefully it'll take care of that eyesore. ba bum ching.

So, I've dosed prazi twice now and the demeanor of my other fish has improved greatly, they are noticably more active and curious.

As far as the eiblii is concerned, the fuzziness around the solid white part has disappeared and it seems as if the solid white part is a little smaller however it is still present.

What should I do at this point? Continue to treat with prazi or up the dosage or something? I'm kinda at a loss, I thought the thing would have disappeared completely with the first dose and that the 2nd dose would be for good measure.
