Part one arrived today. It is in the tank right now. I will post pic when the "dust" settles. So far I have seen some cool hitchhikers. The two best have got to be the baby Pistol shrimp its only about 1/2 inch long but still pretty cool. The secon is a cuke that came in in a piece of the LR. Not to mention about 20 little snails and who knows what else. Thas shipment was spposed to arrive on Monday but I ended up haveing today off and asked if Richard could ship earlier. Not a problem. Richard you "Rock".

Here are a few pic. My camera is acting up today. I will try to get more.

For those who are wondering that clam was a survivor from some homemade frozen food for my nano tank and I decided to add it to aid in the filtration.

Okay when I got home last night the tamk was very cloudy. I checked the rock for die off, nothing no bad smelling sponges nothing. Ammonia was at 0.5ppm but I did a 80% water change to try to clear the water. This morning still cloudy Ammonia 0.25ppm Nitrates 0.0ppm Nitrite 0.0ppm. Any ideas as to what might have caused this? I am concerned this didnt happen when I cycled my nano. Is this normal?

how many gallons for the tank?

is that a hex-tank?

do you have a skimmer ?

how is the water movement ? did I see a nano-stream in there ?

with a hex beeing tall it does not have the surface area the same sized rect-shape tank has.

this may affect how it cycles.

if you do not have a skimmer I'd get one ... maby a HOB like the urchin or urchin-pro as that will both help pull stuff out of the water and airate the water.

both of which should help clear the water.

35gal is the volume and it is a hex. There are two Koralia 1's for about 800gph flow. A Hang on tank Penguin 170 power filter with carbon. I have a skimmer but I am still trying to dial it in for proper skimming.

Might just be a bacteria bloom. I have heard of many tanks starting up and getting cloudy as the bacteria grow in the first few days on excess waste. This would normally clear up in a few days. as the skimmer, filter, and bacteria get the system in balance.

Okay. Richard suggested trying some new carbon which I did after work yesterday. It is looking better but still pretty cloudy. The sulphur smell has gone way down also.
