I contacted Richard about a week ago and he promptly sent me part one of The Package for the 8 gallon Biocube that I won at MACNA. I decided to set up a TBS carribean biotope to give both biotopes and TBS a try- so far I am very impressed.
Here are some photos a couple of hours after introducing part 1:
And here it is a week later. Didn't see too much of a cycle; did one ~3gal H2O change and water now tests at (NH3 + NH4+) 0, NO2 0, NO3 1-2ppm.
So far the hitchhikers include several species of macroalgae, 3-4 ceriths and 3-4 whelks (they look like nassarius to me, but who knows?), and a really cool little curlyque anemone.
Can't wait to see what part 2 looks like!
Thanks Richard- the rock looks awesome and I love the natural look of the sand!
