Particulate in clear water after feeding...What is it?

My water is clear. Just did a 40% water change in my 54g tank. However, after feeding, either Mysis shrimp or Rod's, I get a particulate in the water as shown below. Any thoughts? I do have a diamond goby but he doesn't appear that active and his activity doesn't seem to be discharging too much sand into the water column...thoughts about what this may be? Thanks in advance!

Um... yeah.....so you put food into the water and see particulates in the water...
Yep.. thats what happens..
particles of food/proteins,etc...

Um..yeah...these pics...were...um...yeah..taken...like...hours after feeding...so...um, yeah...they don't even look like the food that was..um, yeah...fed...so, just......yeah...wondering..if maybe a chemistry problem....yeah...hey - thanks so much for your participation...you've been very helpful

You simply stated that after feeding you have particulate in the water..
The fact that this doesn't occur until hours after feeding should have been included in your initial post but better late than never..

Good luck.. Hope you figure it out.

Do you turn off your pumps when you feed? Could be things blown around when they turn back on. Could be the diamond giving the sand an extra tossing about looking for food left on the sand.

I don’t turn off my pumps to feed, and I thought about the diamond but sometimes there’s just so much volume. Is there any way this could be a chemical reaction?

A chemical reaction? Uh no. Are you adding chemicals to your tank after you feed? Just particles/oils from the food.

I get some particulate in the column but it’s the lawnmower stirring up things in the back
The diamondback spits out some stuff too

most people have a sump, the small particle will settle out in the sump area or remove by skimmer. since you use a canister filter, depend what you have in the can and what's your turnover rate. your diamond goby will most likely your problem.

Thanks to all who responded...I have problems in my tank currently and so I'm being hyper sensitive to the things I see there...I guess it's no big deal

If you do not feed the Mysis or the Rods, does the water stay clear?
And if those are frozen, do you rinse before feeding?
Just checking...
