Hi Przemek,

What fixture would you recommend for a 120x120x50cms fully SPS dominated tank.
I am bending on using 8x54w Diuna.

I'm sorry for late reply.
What are the dimensions of the 10x39 and the 10x54 units?

Corey
Unit 10x39W: 920x650mm
unit 10x54W: 1220x650mm.

Please catch me directly, if calibration not work for your controller we will simply replace it.

I rather think about model 10x54W T5 - 120cm wide tank will be too wide for unit with 8pcx tubes.

Reading on other thread about ATI and Giessman T5 fixtures and how T5s loosing PAR without proper cooling , decided to take some tests. Diuna have fans to cool ballasts and openings on both sides for passing cooling T5s.
Diuna hang 10" above water line with mix of KZ and ATI tubes (1 month old)
With water splash cover unit temp 39c
PAR at water line 600-620
sand 220-240
Without guard unit temp 34c
PAR at water line 740-760
sand 320-340

i wish i could of pull out splash for better air circulation and T5 coolng :((
Now i understand why ATI pull out more PAR --better T5s cooling ..
I hope new Althea will have better T5 cooling .

Hi
In each lamp when you will take cover out it will give better PAR.
In ATI Sunpower when you will remove splash shield PAR also will be higher than with it.
To be honest, there were (on RC) comparisons in PAR between Diuna and Sunpower - and it was quite similar(that comparison was made by Customers, I need to look for it).
220-240 PAR on sand is enough to grow acropora corals, in natural reef where we did light measurements(on 1.5, 4, 6 and 10m) best looking colonies of corals(and plenty of species) gwor on PAR between 250 to 400.(strongest colours).
Acropora species growing on shallow water(up to 1.5m) were mostly brown(but they shouldn't using that kind of thinking - more PAR - better colours) right? ;-)
Of course, that PAR is changing during the day(with maximum about 11.30am in sunny days) however we need to remember about one important thing: light is only one of three important factors which make our corals colourful and healthy.
More important are stable water parameters like alkalinity, and very low, but discoverable NO3 and PO4 and proper key micro elements levels - like iodum(needed daily doses because it drop very quickly) , potassium(please see that K levels in natural sea water are only little lower than Calcium - it's third element after magnesium and calcium!) and of course - feeding.
If light would be only one most important - there should be tons of TOTM level aquariums and every Sunpower user should have amazing acropora corals(or other stony corals), with ultra strong colours. Right? ;-)

Hi Przemek
Thank you for prompt respond.
All of what you said is 100% correct and i totally agree on all steps .
But my point is ATI have design Sunpower with better cooling system then you guys. Thats why PAR is heir . Yes i did see compassion on RC .
ATI pull out more PAR ,witch is you right not that we need so much to grow SPS. But would be better to keep T5 longer with heir PARs .
But i still love my Diuna :))

Diuna T5 Android app released!
Dear Customers,
Beta version of Diuna app is ready to download!
For proper working there is needed Diuna firmware update for latest one compatible with Android app(link below).
Step by step:
1. Update firmware on your Diuna lamp(using Windows/Mac application).
2. Discover BlueTooth devices on your phone - pair with Diuna lamp using code 1234

@Mshur
I'm sorry - I missed your post.
Yes, in Diuna lamps we was focused on overall look and design. Cooling is enough for proper ballasts working and not overheating but some Customer can complain and want to have fixture with ULTRA cooled T5 tubes(without other bells and jingles).
That's why we created Althea T5 - with 120mm fans, little higher then Diuna(looks more massively due different construction) but without any doubt - it's PAR monster and best cooled fixture on market.

Looking for suggestions on a 48x48x24 cube. All the rock work is in the center of the tank. It is an acrylic tank and the opening on the top is 33x36 so im thinking a 3 foot fixture will work but im not sure how many bulbs i need.

corey

I think that best coverage you will get with 10 bulbs model . If live rock is placed on center of tank lamp mounted about 20cm from water will work well.
