Patience pays off

Finally I understand patience is the key...I started in this hobby a couple years back and always wanted instant gratification....I learned an expensive lesson..haste makes waste...I've killed more fish than I care to admit...I've water more money buying cheap equipment...I've be stressed and thought about giving up...Then I found this forum....I've spent good money buying good equipment and for the first time since I've started my 210g tank I can actually see some coral growth...I've got a long way to go but what I've noticed in the last month makes it all worth it!!!
Moral of the story if I can do it anyone can...it just takes time...rant over THANKS!

PS if you haven't seen it on Netflix there's a documentary called chasing coral a good watch...

Awesome post[emoji121]️
I can absolutely relate... My first tank was nothing but a very expensive lesson and now I'm like a damn doctor, Ive got a ton of patients (patience) lol. Needless to say, I feel like things are going very well taking my time and doing a ridiculous amount of research before making my next move or addition :) can we see pics!?

Whoa! Those torch (or frogspawn) corals are awesome! I really like your aquascaping too... This tank is going to look awesome as things start filling out even more. Congrats on the success man. Here's a pic of my baby tank (compared to yours)(32g).

You can certainly get away with less expensive equipment but, IMO, a better approach is to buy very high quality used equipment.

I use cheap equipment.

You can't replace diligence with expensive equipment.
You sir are correct...but I never said anything about cheap equipment....I just said I spent good money on good equipment....what may be cheap to you may be expensive to me....

^^^ Good point. However, I mean I bought some really cheap stuff. Almost everything from PetCo! With the exception of a Tunze nano ATO.

I will even admit that I have bought 1/3 of my corals, CUC, and fish from PetCo as well.

I've tried petco...once and everything in my tank went bye bye...so if it's not from my friends store or someone with an established system I wont risk it...to me at least at my local petco it seems they just put water in the tank and drop fish in...and when I have questions they haven't really been able to answer them.

On a different note your tanks looks great

No one learns this right away, unfortunately. Everyone one of us is guilty of inpatients in some way or form when beginning the hobby. Just takes a few months. Some people years. All about the experience.
