To all members. I bring to your attention that if someone pay pals you personally for coral and then he puts in a claim disputing the charge you will lose the money. I recently had some on our site do it to me. Disputing the charge a week later.

I believe this is why you should always make sure the payment is for goods and services and not friends and family. Sorry to hear Matt.
 
Yes. I believe that's why you shouldn't have them send it as a gift. It's like the old saying goes pay now or later but your going to pay

Can I ask did you have the emails stating the purchase and what they bought. Did you send to PayPal

Dude, none of us solid members would ever pull this crap on you. Maybe make people pay in cash that you don't know or don't have a rep to uphold.

You need to make sure that whomever they are, that they are solid on here and have been for a while and contributing regularly. I noticed a lot of posts of new people asking for help / free / equipment loans, etc... people with no history here at all. And, I certainly wouldn't buy from someone offering something expensive who had no history here. Like they say, if its too good to be true, it probably is.

For example, I would probably never sell to someone who joined yesterday, and has 1 post claiming he just lost his tank and needs all the corals we can give/sell him. Thats a person looking for cheap corals / handouts.

Unfortunately the online world has brought us to this point.
 
I sold my 300 gallon tank as my first post. Just because they New doesn't make them fake. If someone buys a large amount from me and I am meeting them I will ask them to PayPal me something like 50 bucks to make sure there serious. At the end of the day even if 1 or 2 jerks beat me for 50 bucks. I don't see that as a problem. Cully how many translations did you have on PayPal. 2 in the course of how many years didn't pay you. Plus you didn't pay any fees on the money , witch we all should since we are selling goods. So consider it a fee. :).

Also I read that policy. It basically means if your selling something that's not legal to sell PayPal won't honor the transaction. Also you cheated PayPal out of a fee then expected them to not reverse the dispute. You really think a company is going to let you keep the money when you been cheating them of there fee. Not trying to sound like a jerk. But honestly if you owned PayPal would you reverse your dispute knowing that you been selling goods without paying them there fee

I only took it because the guy was lite on money he said. He did the same Marek to the same day. He got lucky and got his money back

I like to do COD only but if I can't , I make them pay the fees not me :thumbsup:
 
I tell people every day that the Internet can e a dangerous place, and that they should only deal with people that they know, or have a reason to trust.
I have used Paypal, but far prefer cash, and a face to face exchange.
If you can shake my hand while somehow beating me, I'll probably just quietly take the loss.
I'll eventually see you again somewhere though, and I won't be putting my hand out to shake that time.

Hes been a member for 5 years, and has only managed to post 6 times.I would see that as a giant red flag.

Then, I ran a search on his screen name to see what others are saying about him. Only thread that came back was this one. That says that nobody's complaining about him, but nobody had anything positive to post about him.
Should you decide to try again, at least check as far as I did here.
