If ich s present, a PBT will pick it up..... sooner or later..... they'll get!
Yes, mine got ich at the start, but it was sorted out through q-tine.
Personally, I would not consider putting a PBT into that tank unless:
(1) The PBT gets a full 6 weeks in Q-tine with hypo.....
(2) Everything else that went in the tank before, or after the PBT got the same q-tine proceedure......
Basically, what I am saying is that to me, they are a high risk fish, which I would only keep in conditions which I KNOW to beich free.....
Please note the use of the phrase high RISK...... many people have taken the chance and never had trouble..... but in my view, the odds are just too high in favour of the animal getting ich....
So my advice to you, if you haven't q-tined, would be to ensure that nothing stressful happens to your tank for the next couple of months..... once a tank has been ich free for a few months, chances are that the system is compeltely clear of it..... and from that point on I would be very careful (i.e. q-tine everything) with anything "wet" I put in there......
