Independent shop out here just off the 10 and just before the 215. Been there since the early 90's at least. My print shop use to be next door to them before I moved here.
Haven't talked to them in at least a year and assume this is still correct.

Do you have any data you need to save? depending on your comfort level with computers...you should do the following before you hand off to anyone. Last thing you want is some "computer expert" wiping out all your data.
download Knoppix and burn as an image file onto a stardard CD-R. it is important to burn as an image file otherwise you won't be able to boot from it...I can send you a CD if you don't have access to another computer to do this.
Knoppix is a bootable OS contained entirely on the CD that will essentially bypass everything on your HD's.
you will need to reconfig your BIOS settings so your CD-ROM is read first. If you don't know how to do this you should probably stop.
you will also need another uncorrupted HD (internal or external) or other mass storage device. do not remove your bad one, leave it as-is.
Once you have the new storage device installed, load the knoppix CD and turn on your machine. Assuming you did what you needed to do in the BIOS settings and the CD is good, knoppix will load...i think there's a couple of prompts then it'll take you to a "windows" like desktop. If all goes well, you will see your bad HD and good HD listed. you may need to right click on your good HD and make it "writable" then transfer what you need and you're on your way.
I've recovered data from two HDs this way and it was...(pause for effect)...a life saver. Not only all my music but years of pictures and other important docs.
btw, what's the actual error message? could be bad RAM and a number of other things. Take a pic of your blue screen and post, maybe we can touble shoot through RC

I sold the printing business 5 years ago next month after 20 years in the business. Couldn't keep using my house or business property for collateral on $250-$500K equipment loans. :lol:

If you have files you needed to save before the great wipeout:
1. Dismantle PC, remove HDD
2. Put HDD on an external USB case (or IDE toUSB converter)
3. Plug USB on another PC
4. Xfer your files
5. Unplug HDD. Wipe disk, install fresh copy of OS. Done.
.. or you can get a Mac and (hopefully) never have to deal with this again. (I did!!!!!) lol

Ok, so here's what I have when I turn on the PC..
"A problem has beem detected and windoiws has shut down to prervent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen thei stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, floow theses steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed, if this is a new installation ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any window updates you might need.
If this problems continues, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options suchh as caching or showdowing. If you need to use safe mood to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select safe mood.
Technical information:

FWIW, the last thing I installed was Norton 360 (2.0)...that was a couple weeks ago and all my photos were saved to there back up.
