PC vs. Halide

I have a 25 tall and have a sun glo atinics 18'' pc light and was wonderin if my thoughts are correct...i assume things dont grow as good as they would with halide and i think would it be hard to grow purchased frags from a halide light tank in a pc tank or no difference??i know it sounds weird but ...anyone know??

It really depends on the coral. I used to get better zoanthid growth in my old PC tank than I do now under MH's. Some corals do prefer lower intensity lighting. That being said I would never set up another reef tank without MH's.

SPS, you gonna have a problem. LPS or softies on the other hand do much better either PC, T5, VHO lighting. SPS, if they already aclimated under halides and you swich to a lower PAR lighting they would not do so good .but If you pick one thats under less lighting and move them to more intence lighting, you'll be surprice the coloration they turn into, sure It all depends on your water quality also. One would not work w/o the other. ..........PEACE

From your pics on your previous thread, it looks like you've been stickin' to softies. Better off with PC in that case. Do you have any LPS or SPS currently? Are you going to add LPS or SPS in the near future?

lps and sps? sory for newb question but im not soo sure... i would love to go to like arcos and what not but i am waitin til about july to go to halide lighting and am just not sure... and dont want to kill any frags...

No acros in your current tank! The reason that I say this is b/c of your current bioload. If you feed the trigger and eel like you are supposed to, then the water quality will suffer and acros will die. If you focus on keeping the water quality good, then acros will survive and trigger and eel will be pi$$ed at you for not feedin' them You should get a 55-90gallon tank for the eel and trigger and then once they are moved, then do acros in the 25gal. What kind of skimmer do you have on the 25 right now?

i currently am not skimmeing and am gettin more and more ****sed everyday that im not...will be by the end of the month with sump and all...

One other question for you guys...i have a sun glo atinics 18'' light pc and now i just added a blue glo atinics 18'' now my question is how should i run the lights....as in both on during the day blue on at night...only sun glo during the day...???
