You need to look at the crude protein count in PE vs. other major brands. PE is close to 70% as compared to 10% in most other brands. Basically its a lot better nutritionally for your fish. But for years I fed the other stuff and did just fine as well...soooo I guess its mostly a matter of personal taste. I wish it was a little smaller...

All brands including PE have roughly the same protein content, around 10 percent. The 70 percent value does not take into account moisture content. Think about it logically, if humans are roughly 75 percent water, does it make sense that a mysid shrimp could be 70 percent protein? You will also notice this in protein content differences between frozen and dried products, it doesn't mean that the dry products are nutritionally superior. I don't consider PE any more premium than many other brands, in fact some brands that feature marine species likely are superior (such as Gamma and Hikari) in some regards. The fact that PE is a larger species can be nice though.
