Peaceful Active Fish for 37 Gallon

I'm planning out my eventual stocking list for my 37 Gallon. Here's what I'm planning on now:

Yashia Goby/Shrimp Pair
Purple Firefish

and maybe 2 Bangaii Cardinals

All of these are my 'must haves' (except maybe the cardinals)

All of these fish are mostly docile and it would be nice to have a little movement in the aquarium. What's a small active fish suitable for this size tank and these tankmates?

Thanks for the help.

basslets!!!! Awesome awesome fish, you can go typical with royal grammas or chalks, OR go with something more fancy like the swissguard or swalesi. They are more like to BE bullied then be the bully. I fill my tanks with these guys, all have coexisted well. With your mix you'd have no problems

A good suggestion!

Anthias need more swimming room. The cardinals will only exist as a pair. Bassletts, gobys, and blennys are your best choices. I wouldn't put more than 2-4 fish in that tank.

Blennies are fun they are always perching on rocks checking things out. The problem with the cardinal fish is they are nocturnal it takes awhile before they will be out in the opn. Hands down my clownfish are my favorite they play around in the anemones fun to watch. Although they don't swim much they are to obsessed with hosting all my anemones.

A clownfish would be fun, but I was under the impression that they might be aggressive and bully my firefish. True? Or are there less aggressive species? And I don't have the lighting for an anemone :(. Which I know isn't necessary but definitely fun.

small alien, could you tell more about the flasher wrasses. Are they safe with shrimp? I know some wrasses aren't.

I have a clown and a firefish in my 34g and they have no problems at all. I know everyone has them but I think they are still fun to watch.

There are more and less aggressive species of clowns. The percs and ocellaris are on the more peaceful end for example than the maroon.

I am not really the one to ask about flasher wrasses detail though I can say with some modicum of certainty they will not eat ornamental shrimp. Typicallys get 3-4", are considered peaceful and are very beautiful and active. I went with leopards instead but they are considered significantly more challenging. Maybe one of our resident wrasse experts can tell you more. Good luck.

I don't have first hand experience with flasher or fairy wrasses but I often see them recommended as show fish for small tanks. Check out Orchid Dottybacks (sometimes called Fridmani) beautiful purple fish that is supposed to be one of the most peaceful dottybacks.

i have 2 fairy wrasse's and 1 flasher wrasse and they are amazing, always swimming and they dont bother anything! definetly an awesome fish if you are considering it.

b2d2t what size of tank are your wrasses in? Do you have shrimp in with them?

I have 3 in a 125 And i have 4 ornemental shrimp in with them also 2 blood shrimp and 2 cleaner shrimp.

I would definitely look to see if someone has had the same encounter as i have , but they dont touch my shrimp , mind you they are well fed but still look to see if anyone else has the same situation that i have , because i could just be a lucky one ??
