peaceful firefish tankmates?

In most cases groups of firefish don't work out in captivity. A pr forms and gradually dispatches the rest.

I haven't had an issue with a flame hawk being kept with firefish.

Good tankmates include blue gudgeon, zebra, and scissortail dartfish, yellow assessor, possum and pink streak wrasses, clown gobies, Ecsenius blennies.

Is this true even in a large tank. I have a pair of red firefish in my 65g and would like to get a pair of purple when i upgrade to a 180g. I assume each pair will just make its own territory.

Different species may tolerate each other, but also may not. I have had mixed results when mixing them even in very large (10') tanks.

What if 1 of each (red and purple) were added to a 125, would you still have issues?
