Peacock Missing Raptorial Appendage

I just noticed that my peacock is missing its right raptorial appendage. I have only had it for 3-4 weeks, and I'm pretty sure that it had both when I bought it. Is this common? Will it grow back?

yeah it happens. with proper care it should grow back in the time Dan pointed out.

proper care being good water quality and good food. all frozen feed should be supplemented (with something like selcon or vita-chem). If your tank is large enough to handle the bioload, you could feed every day and remove the uneaten food.

ok, thanks. It wouldnt eat for the first few weeks, from what I noticed, but I have gotten it to eat large frozen shrimp (raw). I will get some selcon. I have it in a 4' long 25g tank that is plumbed into my 50g display and 20g sump, so I should be ok feeding pretty frequently.
