Peanut Worm?

Hi

Not sure how this guy slipped by me all this time, but saw it and got a picture.
I believe this is a peanut worm, correct?
The bit you can see in the picture spans about 1.25in.

It does appear to be a peanut worm. They are nocturnal so unless you're looking when the lights are off your chances of seeing one is slim.

It was out (the proboscis was anyway) with lights on, but I had just fed...

I have a few peanut worms in my tank that come out when I feed with the lights on

i have about a thousand of them...

are you concerned about them? should i be?

i see them every night when i look at my tank to see how many amphipods i have scurrying around my zoas and GSP...

No, no need to be afraid of them, they are detrivores. I was just curious, as I hadn't actually seen one

they can eat 1 pound of rock every 20 years so if you have thousands they could cause a problem eventuly 20 dollers of LR

I had a peanut worm and it never did anything horrible in my tank.
