Thank you Paul (for your advice about the PSB).

Thank you Jeff's on line (something about fish) store (for the fish).

Thank you FedEx (for getting the fish to me alive).

What I thought were lots of aiptasia have become almost non existant in just a few weeks.

It is possible that the PSB is only eating the ones that I can see, but that seems unlikely...

Wanted to let everyone know - and I can find the exact name of the store where I bought the fish if anyone wants one and can't find them locally. They are in California.

Good deal getting rid of the Aiptasia!

Slone put a couple of the PSB in one of his display tanks at Exotic Aquatics. Every rock was covered with large Aiptasia a few weeks ago. I went in today and they are almost completely gone! He said they are making short work of the Aiptasia. I couldn't believe it.

Final Update

Final Update

The fish is apparently dead. I can't find it and my nitrates spiked, or are spiking. I can't find it, so I guess the scavengers put it somewhere, or it has been consumed.

Tha aiptasia are gone, but first guess is that it wasn't getting enough to eat. Its mouth and the fish itself resembled the copper banded butterfly and I have been told those are hard to keep/feed. I had hoped it would find enough to eat after getting rid of the aiptasia, but apparently not. If the aiptasia come back, I may persue nudibranch or something else which dies after all the aiptasia are gone, but which don't cost quite so much.

generally PSBs take to regular tank food quite well. You may have just been unlucky.

Sorry Tony,

P.

All sorts of variables; smallest fish in the tank, smallest mouth too. When I feed, I don't broadcast. Rather I put it in areas where someone will get to it quickly.

There was a little harassment at first from the Maroon, but that stopped in a few days. I could see it darting around in the back and front most days. It certainly cleaned out the aiptasia. Maybe if I got one and there wasn't so much aiptasia it would learn to eat other foods. I may persue this at a lfs. I think Judy offered to get one for me.

Another addition to the long list of "unfortunate additions..."
